Area Supervisor - Tubular Operations

IPSCO has an immediate opening for an Area Supervisor in our Calgary, Alberta location. 

Candidates for this position will possess a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business or Engineering with and/or a background in a related discipline such as maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or metallurgical technology or will have several years experience, with hands on supervision, in a heavy manufacturing environment. Two to 5 years of previous experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment would be an asset. The successful candidate will possess strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires shift-work. 

Area Supervisors direct the activities of plant personnel to meet production requirements and objectives in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner by optimizing the operation of and directing the maintenance and repair of plant equipment. Area Supervisors must also manage employees via training, discipline, feedback and communication to continuously improve performance. High quality standards must also be maintained. Area Supervisors report directly to General Supervisors who are responsible for operational departments within the respective Pipe Works.
