to Current Positions Environmental Health & Safety Technician IPSCO Steel Inc. is seeking an EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) Technician to be based out of our Steel Mill Operations in Montpelier, Iowa. Candidates are required to either have B.S. in a related field or 2 years relevant experience. Ideal candidates will hold a professional certification. Additional experience and/or formal education in Environmental Program Management is highly desirable, preferably from a heavy manufacturing industry. The main responsibility of the EH&S Technician is to support and coordinate programs and activities with respect to safety, security and environmental services at the operating facility. The job is technical in nature and will require amongst other things, implementation of safety management systems, training requirements, monitoring/auditing elements and corrective action steps. Also, the job responsibilities will include amongst other things evaluation, auditing and helping to manage all routine activities required by facility environmental permits, including sampling, inspections, data management, report preparation and submission. The candidate will take direction from the site Environmental Manager and the site Safety Manager to implement steps necessary to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations and will assist in the implementation of environmental and safety best practices.
