IT Analyst – Steel Systems

IPSCO Inc. is currently seeking an IT Analyst for the Steel Systems Canada group. Reporting to the IT Manager – Steel Systems Canada, the Analyst will be responsible for development and support of the manufacturing systems for the Steel Operations in Regina. Applicants will possess a degree in Computer Science from a recognized university or technical institute, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience. 

Your technical skills must include working experience with SQLServer database, along with strong programming skills in VB.Net and ASP.Net on a Windows 2000/XP platform. Other desirable programming skills include Visual C++. Experience with SCADA development, HMI development using Intellution FIX32/iFIX, TCP/IP and wireless network management, and workstation / server support would also be beneficial. 

You must be a strong communicator and team player. You have superior troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Applicants must be comfortable in an industrial setting and be willing to take after hour calls in a ‘24 x 7’ manufacturing environment. 

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. A comprehensive range of employee benefits, including profit sharing, is provided.
