to Current Positions Level II Systems Engineer (Automation Engineer) IPSCO is seeking an experienced Level II Systems Engineer (Automation Engineer) to be based out of our Regina Steel Mill. Candidates must hold a B.S. Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related scientific field. A minimum of 5 years experience in industrial process control systems is also required, and additional manufacturing experience is highly desirable, preferably in the steel industry. Previous experience in modeling and/or rolling technologies would be a big advantage. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of software engineering and process engineering functions including: analyzing process performance, development and designing process changes, managing the implementation of process improvements and managing projects of related engineering activities. The main responsibility is to develop methods and practices that will improve the quality of products, expand the product mix and reduce manufacturing costs through specialized application and use of automation technology. The incumbent will also design, develop and manage process-related, modeling, engineering and research projects with the objective of developing new methods and practices that will ultimately reduce production cost, improve yields and provide better product quality. Preference will be given to individuals who have proven experience in Visual Basic.Net and C++ programming languages.
