IPSCO Inc. is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to be part of our medical team. This position will be based out of our Regina facility.
The qualified candidate must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and currently registered with a Provincial Registered Nurses Association. Ten years of nursing experience with at least five years as an Occupational Health Nurse would be required. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health Nursing, an understanding of nursing legislation, code of ethics and practice standards. The candidate should possess a Certificate or University diploma in Occupational Health but consideration would be given to related experience. An Audiometric Technician Certificate, First Aid, CPR and AED certification is also required. Certification to perform immunization, experience in disability management, as well as a working knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, (WCB, OH&S Act, Human Rights Code and privacy legislation) would be an asset.
The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. A principal function of the position is to develop and deliver health services programs for the purpose of optimizing wellness, preventing illness and injury and managing health risks. The successful candidate will be accountable for the ethical and confidential administration of all nursing actions under IPSCO policy and procedures and will ensure compliance with the legal scope of nursing practice.
